Katja Colt

I work on big and small shapes, which I join up and interweave – small details which together form a bigger whole. This can be associated with a piece of knitting or something textile.

My thoughts are also drawn to a monumental building with repeated architectural shapes, created by large cylindrical pillars. I imagine that they can embellish a public place both indoors and outdoors. My previous work has often been utility items, and I want what I do to have some kind of remit or function.
