I usually start off from people’s relationship to place. My work involves rooms I have experienced myself or known rooms that have left something in me – traces I want to understand and recreate. Another important consideration is capturing what may appear an insignificant event or an extremely ordinary conversation; stories that are taking place all the time but do not easily find their way into the general historical memory. A question I often ask myself is how the room I’m in influences me and other people, and how the room comes into existence through interpersonal conversations.
