My work has in recent years developed artistically from traditional b&w photography to more experimental and complex video, often portraying female protagonists. Working in and exploring the technique of blue screen, I have a special interest in visually changing and breaking the conception of reality, creating my own worlds, working with stage sets, making my own props and costumes etc. My work concerns issues of identity, feminism, gender, personal / public history and memory with fictional elements and / or fantasy, social relations and power structures. It often relies on visual enchantments playing with random collective and personal assumptions and generalizations. In all of my works there is a clear frustration, working with sarcasm, irony and a subtle violence. The video exhibited at the degree exhibition takes place in the complex mind of a young woman, visualizing thoughts, misconceptions, memories, fears and dreams.
