Contact: tora.windahl (at) telia.com I often use existing objects associated with personal experiences and physical memories. I use metaphors and visual overlaps, and I move objects from their normal context. I combine them with unfamiliar material so that something ‘cracked’ – often worrying, fragile, ridiculous, beautiful, comic or violent – evolves. Sometimes the objects I need do not exist. I then make them. Completely new figures that move. The movement is important, regardless of whether it is motor-powered or arises in the encounter between the configuration and our gaze. The room and the place form the scene. It can be completely generating, or it can come into the middle and flatten everything out so you have to start again. I also paint.
