Some people take risks for the sake of adventure. Accidents can happen suddenly, and rescue operations must be fast and effective. The Swedish Sea Rescue Society has a century-old tradition of volunteers and private donations. What are the most common scenarios, what are the needs of rescue staff and how can these be met?
In this project, the end product has evolved from the needs that were identified, and how these needs can be satisfied. I believe that my industrial design training provides opportunities for making improvements – based on user studies and product development – that can make the difference between life and death.
